Gordon Currie
Since graduating from the Royal Academy of Music (London), Gordon has worked as a teacher, a professional musician and a freelance musical director. He has directed over sixty shows and worked in a variety of major venues across the United Kingdom, including the Usher Hall in Edinburgh, the Royal Albert Hall in London, the SECC in Glasgow and, of course, the King’s. The vast majority of Gordon’s experience to date has been in musical theatre. Credits include; Chess, Jesus Christ Superstar, West Side Story, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Fiddler on The Roof, Annie, The Merry Widow, The Desert Song and Pirates of Penzance to name but a few.
In 2002 and 2004, Gordon was MD for the song and dance class at the NODA summer school in Loughborough. He has also directed several master classes for NODA throughout the UK. The practical application of techniques encompassing voice production, diction, breathing and interpretation are the driving forces of Gordon’s musical ambition for every show.
In his ‘spare’ time, Gordon’s hobbies include music, music and music!
