Garry Taylor
Garry’s love of music has seen him through two decades, and various bands, as a singer/songwriter. He is currently lead singer in Cashcow, who will be releasing their album in early Summer. Performing is a way of life for Garry and has been for many years, following in the footsteps of his parents—and biggest influences—Jake & Ella, who played professionally for many years in the swinging sixties. As minor detours on the road to pop stardom, Garry appeared in a BBC Naked Video special in 2000, and once climbed through a car window under the direction of Guy Ritchie for a Nightcrawlers video.
Garry first appeared with Pantheon in a concert version of Jesus Christ Superstar, when he sang the part of Judas for two runs, in 1996 and ’98, though he insists that he has been around the place since 1992, managing to sneak into after-show parties “to ensure that the cast were having a good time.”
He returned to the rôle of Judas in our May 2003 production of Jesus Christ Superstar at The King’s.
Garry dedicates his performances to the love of his life, son Jude, and the late, great Joe Strummer.
